West End Production Announcement: Renowned Director Jeremy Herrin will lead the helm on “Long Day’s Journey into Night” Reveals Stellar Cast including Brian Cox Patricia Clarkson, Alex Lawther, Daryl McCormack and Louisa Harlandstar in Eugene O’Neill’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play.
The play will be directed by Jeremy Herrin, and will preview at Wyndham’s Theatre from 19 March 2024.
The producers are guaranteeing 50 £25 tickets for every performance throughout the run.
Second Half Productions is thrilled to unveil the exceptional cast lineup for the highly anticipated revival of Eugene O’Neill’s masterwork, “Long Day’s Journey into Night.” This new rendition promises to captivate audiences with its raw intensity and unforgettable performances.
Taking centre stage in this autobiographical magnum opus is the incomparable Patricia Clarkson (Sharp Objects), a Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning actress, who will portray the complex matriarch, Mary Tyrone. Joining her is the extraordinarily talented Alex Lawther (The End of the F***ing World, Black Mirror) in the role of Edmund, while BAFTA award-nominee Daryl McCormack (Bad Sisters, Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) will take on the part of James Jr. Louisa Harland (Derry Girls) completes the cast as Cathleen, in what promises to be a breathtaking portrayal.
In a momentous return to the West End after nearly a decade, Emmy award-winning actor Brian Cox (Succession) will grace the stage as James Tyrone, adding his incomparable talent to this powerful production.
Eugene O’Neill’s Pulitzer Prize-winning opus, often hailed as the greatest American play of the 20th Century, offers a deeply personal and evocative portrayal of the Tyrones, a family deeply rooted in dysfunction, mirroring O’Neill’s own experiences. With themes of love, hate, betrayal, addiction, and the fragile nature of family bonds, O’Neill’s masterpiece weaves a profound and touching narrative that resonates with audiences across generations.
